Photos 02 | The Austcham 10K Race 2017

The Austcham 10K race is a gruelling non-stop 10Km Dragon Boat race in Singapore.  I've paddled in this race twice before and it's definitely the hardest race I've ever participated in.  Not only is it physically draining (paddling for 45-50 minutes under the sweltering midday Singapore sun will almost kill you), it's mentally exhausting as well.  This race will push you past your limits and you'll be surprised how far you can go.

Aside from the duration of the race, the other unique aspect of the race is that it goes past several Singaporean landmarks such as the Singapore Flyer, the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay.  There’s also a great after-party in Boat Quay to replenish those lost carbs with beer!

This year I was asked to photograph the event and was lucky enough to witness the race from a vantage point most people don’t get the see - the lead safety boat!  There’s the whole album over at my Facebook page (here) but I’ve posted the select few that I like, below.

I hope you all enjoy!
